What is film better than digital for? I have heard B+W in digital just doesn’t look right. Is there anything that you would rather use film over digital for? Just personal preference or outside influences?
What kind of film do you use and for what? I have heard just about every brand from different folks. She says Fuji, he says Kodak…. with the exception of generic film, so if you like the generic stuff, speak up.
Personally I dont like the amount of contrast in my digital for B+W pics. I have tried bumping up the contrast, using red or orange filters, and photographing things with more contrast, but eveything is more shades of grey than black and white. Maybe I am just overexposing or something simple.

film yes use it for billboard size images, a little bit of other work, and ALWAYS for pleasure.
just about any well exposed film scanned on a Professional quality film scanner (a $500,000 one not a $500 or $5000 one) will be better than digital. Range, sharpness, clairity, overall sexyness etc its film.
some DSLR’s have “modes” where the camera “imitates” different films, well imitation is……..
film is really individual taste alot of the time, thats why lots of people like one and not others. me anything from 50-100iso for colour tranies is grand. Kodak if i want more “true” colours and say Velvia if I want vivid greens and more “vitality” – sorry poor choise of word I think.
Black and white from digital is crap, but thats what pros say, amateurs dont know any different. When you see some hand printed etc real B+W art you will know it.
B+W on digi is a bit hit and miss I think, mostly because theres not the latertude of B+W film. – someone correct me please
