I am looking for a GOOD online photo lab. Does anyone know of one?
I have tried several online labs and have not found the perfect one yet. I am a serious amatuer photographer. I shoot with a Nikon D-70, set at Fine and Large file, and use good quality lens. I have used Mpix, I found their large prints to be VERY good but the smaller ones (4×6) to not be crystal clear and full of detail. Creative Memories lab lacked crispness in the detail also on all print sizes. Both of these labs had excellent color. So far my best lab is called Scrapbookpictures.com. My gripe with them is that they print my pics too light even though I request dark prints in the instuction box. I have also tried other labs whos quality was just plain POOR. Is there any lab/s out there that will give me rich color, crisp detail and a wide choice of sizes? I do not want to waste time/money trying all the labs out there in an effort to find a good one. Any ideas?
I’ve always used TPI Photo (www.tpiphoto.com) for all my printing. Whether it’s something as small as a wallet or as large as a 20×30 and the quality is just superb.
The turnaround time for most of my orders is only 2 days. Whether I’m sending 300 images or 30 images. Pricing is very reasonable at $1.80 for an 8×10.
They use a software called ROES that you download that has all their templates built in and you can FTP your orders in sections or all at once. Or you can put an order in teh queue to send at a later date.
They also accept film, cd, strips, etc to provide print froms.
