Is the aperture on All Nikon Lenses controlled by mechnical actuator?
Hi all: I bought a cheap Nikon Extension Tube for macrophotography and my lens is a Nikon G (28-80mm 3.5 – 5). The tube is just simply connecting the lens to the body and offers no control of the aperture. However the aperture of this lens is controlled by a mechnical actuator. If I use the tube, I will have no control of the aperture at all and it will be set at the highest f-stop. This will result in a very dark viewfinder and I can barely see a thing. Is there a Nikon lens that has the aperture controlled by electric signal?

It is probably a lens by lens situation.
That said, what you are trying to do, using an extension tube, by default will put your camera in the manual mode and the auto aperture function is not applicable.
Apeture control at that point is manual. Focus with the lens wide open and then stop it down to the proper f/stop (be sure to use bellows comp).
It is a lot like using an old view camera.
